Latin American Tour of professional Surf arrives at Mexico

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 September, 2007 : - - For the first time in history, the Latin American Tour of Professional Surf - ALAS arrives to Mexico in search of a promising wave in the coasts from the Aztec Pacific in the beach Las Escolleras Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. Well-known zone as a paradise tourist destiny.

From this Thursday September 6 until Sunday 9 the seventh date of the Latin Tour will be carried out, event of six stars (maximum level for a championship). Everything is ready to receive more than 35 foreign surfers that are arriving into Mexico to try to reach the title of Latin American Champion 2007.

In addition, the Mexican surfers will participate representing their country. Between the most recognized are: Ángelo Lozano, Diego Cadena, Oscar Moncada, Jose Manuel Trujillo, Kalle Karranza, Raul Loyola and David Rutherford, among others. These surfers are regular competitors of all the tour demonstrating the strong level that has Mexico in surf Latin.

The inscriptions are open here until Wednesday, nevertheless Mexico already has the record of the enrolled premises until the moment: 55 local surfers. The categories competing are: Open, Woman, Pro-Junior and Longboard. The latins surfers registered until today in the Open category are:

Sebastián Alarcón (PER) 1st of the ranking, Ernesto Nunes (BRA) 2nd of the ranking, Martín Passeri (ARG) 3rd of the ranking, Jean Carlo Schaffer (VEN) 4th of the ranking, Luis Vindas (CRI), Javier Swayne (PER), Diego Naranjo (CRI), Mágnum Martínez (VEN), Francisco Bellorín (VEN), Rafael Pereyra (VEN), Jesús Chacón (VEN), Manuel Sellman (CHI), Diego Medina (CHI), Edwin Del Río (CHI), Tristán Aicardi (CHI), Leandro Usuna (ARG), Gary Saavedra (PAN), Alanderson Martins (BRA)

Most of they come from El Salvador were the MOVISTAR LATIN PRO PUNTA ROCA 2007 took place last week, where Luis Vindas from Costa Rica won the main event. Rafael Pereyra won the Junior category and Analí Gómez from Perú get the first place in Woman.

The Latin American Surf Association
The Latin American Surf Association - ALAS was founded in the year 2000 with the purpose of promoting surfing in Latin America and creating a circuit at continental level that serves like platform of professional competition for the increase amount of surfers in our countries.

In the year 2002 ALAS made for the first time in history a series of events that consecrated the first Latin American Champion of Surf; the Latin American Surf Circuit continued and grew throughout the years, holding fast in the coasts of twelve countries of Latin America. Today, ALAS controls and executes professional championships in the Latin American level, defining the Latin Champions in the Open Pro, Pro Junior, Woman and Longboard categories.
