Quiksilver Pro France schedule and updates for day 1

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 September, 2007 : - - Tomorrow is the D-Day ! From 21st to 30th September, Quiksilver Pro France will welcome the elite of the world’s professional male surfers to the Landes coast on the occasion of the 7th WCT World Championship.

Kelly Slater (USA), 8-times World Champion, Mick Fanning (AUS), the current world number 1, Andy Irons (HAW), as well as Jérémy Florès (FRA), the only European on the WCT are eagerly awaited at Hossegor from 21st September onwards for one of the most prestigious stages of the Pro Tour. Before starting the Landes competition, the Quiksilver Pro France will take a detour via Biarritz, on 20th September, to celebrate, in its own unique way, 50 Years of Surfing.

> 2 contest sites this year. The team of organisers of Quiksilver Pro France 2007 have opted to set up the main competition site on “La Nord”, at Hossegor. A second site will be set up on “La Gravière” up in the north.

> Names of trialists are (for the wildcard) : Tom Curren, Tamaroa McComb, Michel Bourez, Clay Marzo, Dylan Graves, Alain Riou, Joan Duru, Tiago Pires, Fred Robin, Patrick Beven, Nikolaus Von Rupp, Marlon Lipke, Marc Lacomare. Miky Picon and Aritz Aranburu have wildcards.

> Quiksilver Pro France on Eurosport 2 The first ever LIVE TV coverage of the Quiksilver Pro France Surfing competition ! Eurosport 2, the new generation sports channel of Eurosport Group, will bring viewers exclusive LIVE coverage from the prestigious Quiksilver Pro France in Hossegor. Exclusive Daily coverage from 21 to 30 September from 23:00 to 23:15 with best action of the day.  First ever TV LIVE coverage in the world.

Eurosport 2 will show LIVE the best of the competition: the final! As the schedule of competitions is dependent on weather conditions, Eurosport 2 will have a LIVE “floating” broadcast that will adapt to any possible changes. Quiksilver Pro France : J-1: Unique manche française du Championnat du Monde de Surf Masculin

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 September, 2007 : - - L’unique manche du Championnat du Monde de Surf pro débutera officiellement Vendredi 21 Septembre 2007 à Hossegor, sur le site principal Plage de La Nord.  Avant de s’installer pour 10 jours dans les Landes, le Quiksilver Pro France fait une halte à Biarritz demain, jeudi 20 septembre pour une journée exceptionnelle à la Grande Plage.

8h : Trials du Quiksilver Pro France (attribution de la wildcard)
11h : Présentation Presse du nouveau site internet de Quiksilver développé avec Microsoft au restaurant l’Opale (17, avenue Edouard VII à Biarritz). PRESSE UNIQUEMENT. En présence de Bernard Mariette, Pierre Agnes, M.Borotra, des surfers Kelly Slater, Jérémy Florès, Miky Picon mais aussi de Mathieu Crépel et Candide Thovex.
10h30 – 16h : Kelly Slater Experimental (Expression Session) avec les surfers du Top 44.
18h30 : Présentation du Quiksilver Pro France au restaurant l’Opale (17, avenue Edouard VII à Biarritz). PRESSE UNIQUEMENT.

Dernière minute :

> Deux sites fixes pour le Quiksilver Pro France cette année. Le site principal est installé plage de la Nord à Hossegor. Le deuxième site fixe sera situé un peu plus au nord, à la Gravière.

Le Quiksilver Pro France sur Eurosport 2 Eurosport 2, la chaîne nouvelle génération du groupe Eurosport met en place un dispositif exceptionnel pour le Quiksilver Pro France :  un résumé quotidien de la journée présenté par Jean-Patrick Mothes (Buzz), de 23h à 23h15 du 21 au 30 septembre 2007. Une journée de direct pour les phases finales du Quiksilver Pro France.

Grâce à une programmation flottante, Eurosport 2 adaptera sa programmation au calendrier de la compétition. Une première mondiale sur un WCT européen !
