Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 October, 2007 : - - Competitors arrived on Saturday at Fistral beach to be shocked by perfect offshore 2-3ft surf, sun shining, and the best contest conditions of the year. We kicked off the event on the Saturday with round 1 of the under 16s. Dom Savage from Newquay shone in the early round heats locking two decent scoring rides and advancing into the next rounds.

After that, we kicked off the Under 12’s & Girls categories. Harry Timson once again another standout in the under 12’s category, and with high scoring waves and suited conditions he nabbed a place in to Sundays final. In the girls category, the early rounds kicked off with surfers scoring astounding rides from the surf conditions.

It was a highly contested final between the U.K’s top Girl Junior surfers. The scores were tight with all surfers locking in top scoring waves but Holly Donnelly from newquay edged her other opponents to take the XPY title with Gwen Spurlock taking second, Zoe sheath third and Kathleen Spears 4th.

The Sunday was once again firing with head high sets and offshore winds. As the event was boosted to a 2 star event, the only one on the UKPST, surfers were eager to get the extra points.  The under 16’s were immediately in the water chucking buckets of spray all over the contest area! Early round scores firing in from all surfers. Early round standouts included Swansea’s Adam Reimnitz and Alex Baker from Croyde.

The finals came round and first into the water were the Under 16’s. With each surfers locking in nearly 10 waves each, and scores consistently in the excellent range but Stuart Campbell took the win overtaking Alex Baker in second, Jack Butler in third and Lewis Clinton in 4th. Next in was the under 12’s final. Harry Timson Cleaned up locking in two excellent scores of a 8.50 and a 6.67.

Second was Patrick Daniel, third was Jobe Hariss and in forth was Dale Foster. In the Pro Junior Final, the ocean went mellow and 10 minutes into the heat and only a handful of waves were caught. Tom Butler locked in a high scoring wave of 7.10 but unfortunate to unlock a back up wave. But with 2 scores of 6.67 and a 5.40, Stuart Campbell took another win knocking out Lyndon Wake in 2nd and favourites to win Tom Butler and Mitch Corbett in 3rd and 4th.

Other Trophies included the annual highest scoring wave trophy and the Globe time for airs trophy which were both taken by Stuart Campbell as well. A big thanks to Oakley and Globe for Supporting the event, alongside Xbox, Carveboard and Fistral Blu.
