Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior Announces Biggest Ever Australasian and World Domestic Pro Jr Event

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 October, 2007 : - - The Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior will kick off the 2008 ASP Australasian season in sensational fashion with today's announcement of a record prize pool of $AUD35 000. That consists of $30 000 for the Pro Junior men's, $4 000 for the Women's and a special Cadet division with $1 000 up for grabs.  

Australasia and the world's best 20 year and under surfers will again hit Victoria's Surfcoast for this prestigious event that has an enormous history of incredible surfers who have won this event. A small sample of past winners includes Mick Fanning, Dean Morrison, Jessi Mylie-Dyer along with last years winners Matt Wilkinson and Pauline Ado from France. 

The ASP Pro Junior Series is a prime breeding ground for tomorrow's champions on the Open ASP world professional circuit and all eyes globally will focus on the Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior in January. This event always draws a huge international field keen to begin the ASP season with a big result.  

ASP Australasia Tour Manager Glenn Best commented on the $35 000 prize pool saying "The Kustom Jetty Surf has been an incredible competition for the past decade and it is fitting that the event offers the biggest prize pool in domestic Pro Junior surf world wide.

It's a great way to ignite the professional surfing season for 2008 and as we've seen in the past few years Bells Beach regularly delivers solid summer swells to bring out the best in these super talents from right around the world."  

Just some of the surfers we can expect to see lining up in the 2008 Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior include Julian Wilson, Heath Joske, Sally Fitzgibbons and Laura Enever. Mix those four in with some of the world's best and then a huge number of emerging talents and the field will be sensational. Peak summer crowds on Victoria's Surf Coast are in for a certain spectacle!
