Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 13 December, 2007 : - - Huntington Beach, Ca -- November 29th's Opening Ceremony of The Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational in Memory of Eddie Aikau was the most moving and well-attended opener in the 33-year history of the event. From the stellar turnout of big wave invitees and alternates, to the full-spectrum, live, online coverage that circled the globe, it was a traditional ceremony to remember.

For those sensitive to local Hawaiian 'indicators', the omens are good for this winter: from the light mist of rain that brushed the closing moments of the ceremony, to the strong pulse of waves that broke through the Waimea lineup and saw surfers ride 'til dark. To re-visit the day, please go to quiksilver.com/bigwave. Click on "video" to experience the highlights and historic moments of the event, including never-before-seen footage.
