    LISA AND DANIEL MACE WIN TITLES AT THE LOTTO FUTURE STARS CHALLENGE

    Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 January, 2008 : - - Kommetjie twins Lisa and Daniel Mace posted almost identical heat scores to win the Under 18 Girls and Under 18 Boys titles respectively in the Lotto Future Stars Challenge which was completed in small but contestable surf at Long Beach, Kommetjie on Sunday (January 20).

    Max Armstrong, another Kommetjie local, won the Under 16 Boys title while hosts Western Province dominated the event, winning both the Tag Team and Overall Team titles.  Lisa Mace beat Chantelle Rautenbach of the Boland team into second place with fellow WP Team members Tanika Hoffman and Holly Armstrong ending third and fourth respectively.

    WP team captain Daniel Mace had the measure of Tommie Kruger of Boland who narrowly beat Future Stars team captain Grant Arendse into third place. Nicholas Grondman of the Western Province Mavericks was fourth. In the all WP Under 16 final, James Lowe was second behind Armstrong. Jarred Veldhuis came third and Daniel Wilson was fourth.

    Western Province beat Boland, the Future Stars and the Mavericks respectively in the Tag Team and Overall Team event. The Lotto Future Stars Challenge involved three teams of provincial surfers and a team made up of up and coming National Academy surfers selected by Surfing South Africa.
