Online site pairing house and couch swaps for surf trips
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 January, 2008 : - - Glissers, the international directory of surf holidays, today launched a home exchange program aimed exclusively at surfers. Traveling surfers from all around the world can upload information about themselves, their home, their local surf spots, and then swap with other surfers for free.
"Surfers has always done this - we're just making it easier for them to connect", says Nils Hammar, founder of the site. There are currently 300 listings on the site from all over the world, with more being added every day. Surfers know the value in meeting up with local surfers when traveling - the people who know the region like their own pockets.
But you don't need to own a beach hut on Hawaii to participate - as long as you're a surfer, you can join, says Nils Hammar: "Surfers don't only surf. It might sound strange but some people actually want to swap their beach home for a weekend in the city, or the mountains... and since it's free, they can do it over and over again."
