No action for the Monster Energy Pipeline Pro on Friday
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 February, 2008 : - - Honolulu - There will be no competition today for the Monster Energy Pipeline Pro, presented by Billabong. The small but consistent NW swell of the last couple of days has been replaced by a junky NE windswell overnight that is offering close to zero quality rides.
Organizers are looking towards early next week to conclude the event, given that latest forecasts don't show a lot of promise for this weekend. When competition does resume, it will be with heat 9 of the round of 64, featuring defending event champion Jamie O'Brien (HI), Fred Patacchia Jr (HI), Mark Healey (HI), and Darrell Goodrum (USA).
A little more than one full day of competition remains and the event has until the end of Wednesday, February 6, to conclude. The next call will be made around 7am tomorrow.
