SURF SLEEP-IN CONTINUES AT MONSTER ENERGY PIPELINE PRO
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 February, 2008 : - - Honolulu - The sleep-in continues for another day along the North Shore of Oahu, so no competition today for the Monster Energy Pipeline Pro, presented by Billabong. For every day that the Mainland continues to be battered by heavy winter storms, the North Shore goes another day without surf, as low pressure systems are driven east and their swell trains bypass Hawaii.
Contest Director Sean Wingate is optimistic that the event will resume tomorrow morning: "We're looking forward to an increase in swell tonight that looks promising for a Monday morning start." A decision will be made at 7am tomorrow. Just three days remain for competition, with the holding period drawing to a close at the end of Wednesday, February 6th. A little more than one full day of the event is required to determine the winner.
Results from Thursday shown in order of 1st through 4th.
