What the press said about the first edition:

“An invaluable resource – a one-stop guide to surfing across the continent.” - Surfer Magazine (USA)

“The best surf guide to Europe ever published” - Surf Portugal Magazine

“An indispensable guide to any Euro jaunt.” - Carve Magazine (UK)

    About the Authors
Chris grew up surfing the frigid reefs of northeast England before spending 10 years interviewing surfing’s heroes and anti-heroes, as the editor of Asylum and Freeride – two of the UK’s most influential boardsports magazines. Born in Cornwall, Demi’s childhood spanned 4 continents leaving her with travel in her blood and a love of lefthanders. Before becoming established as a photojournalist, she managed the UK communications for the world’s largest surf brand.

Having dreamt up the idea for Surfing Europe on a long road trip, the pair packed in their ‘desk jobs’, packed up their van and undertook a year of on the road research – surfing, exploring and documenting Europe's Atlantic coastline. The resulting bestselling book has been critically acclaimed and hailed as the ultimate guide to surfing and travelling the continent. They have also written Surfing Britain, Surfing the World and How to be a Surfer and contribute to media across the globe on surf and travel issues. They live in Cornwall overlooking the sea.

    About Footprint Books
Footprint Books are the publishers of the worlds longest running English language guidebook, The South American Handbook, which celebrates its 85th birthday this year. As one of the world’s leading travel guide publishers, they have for decades catered to the independent traveller and epitomize the real spirit of surf and travel – they’ve had their van stolen in Sydney, crashed motorbikes in Nam, caught Dengue Fever in Venezuela, been robbed by banditos in Costa Rica, arrested in Laos and shot in a hold-up in Mexico, all in the name of research.
