3rd Annual Vans Pier Classic takes over Huntington Pier

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 March, 2008 : - - The 3rd Annual Vans Pier Classic presented by Jack’s Surfboards takes over the Huntington Beach pier Wednesday, March 26 through Sunday, March 30. Kicking off the West Coast leg of the 2008 World Qualifying Series (WQS) tour, the event consists of the Men’s and Women’s WQS 2-Star Vans Pro and a Men’s Grade 2 event, the Ezekiel Pro Junior. 

The event will feature many of the best young surfers in the world vying for title honors and part of nearly $50,000 in prize money up for grabs. Those that can’t make it out to the pier can catch live webcasts of the entire event at vans.com . Also look for plenty of photos and daily live up-dates at vans.com.

Among the 160 men surfers confirmed to compete in the Vans Pro draw include Dane, Tanner and Pat Gudauskas, John John Florence, Andrew Doheny and Eric and Evan Geiselman plus defending champ Micah Byrne of Huntington Beach with Courtney Conlogue, Sage Erickson and Leila Hurst in the women’s pro.
