Look International shows interest in Rossignol purchase
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 March, 2008 : - - The head of cycling equipment group Look International told French newspaper Le Figaro that he was interested in buying Rossignol, the French winter sporting goods company that Quiksilver (ZQK.N: Quote, Profile, Research) has put up for sale.
"Why am I interested in Rossignol? Because I am a sports fan. Rossignol is a very nice brand ... and Look, with its carbon technology, can bring it a know-how," Dominique Bergin said in the interview published on Wednesday.
Quiksilver bought Rossignol three years ago for 360 million euros ($560.8 million). The sale spearheaded by JP Morgan is expected to start in early April, and Look International could team up with an investment fund to submit an offer, Le Figaro said.
