Hurley announces signing of Marlon Lipke

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 April, 2008 : - - Hurley, the leading global youth brand with strong roots in surf, skate, art, music and beach culture, announced the signing of Marlon Lipke to their European surf team.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal to German parents, Marlon is the seven time German national champion and won the European Pro Junior title in 2004. Injury set him back in 2006 but he powered back in 2007 with 3 wins on the European Pro Tour and a 1st place finish in the Quik Pro France Trials which set up a WCT event wildcard and a head-to-head in his heat with none other than Mick Fanning.

Marlon closed out 07 ranked 3rd in Europe and is aiming for greater success in 2008. Says Marlon: “I’m extremely happy to be surfing for a company I can identify myself with. Hurley is growing steadily, I’m stoked to be part of it and I hope I can help them to become really successful in Europe. I couldn’t have made a better choice.”
