Groms Busting Out In Cape Town!

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 14 April, 2008 : - - Boardriding fans countrywide can set their decoders for another round of hardcore and exciting boardriding from around the world. For this episode the action goes from Cape Town all the way to Marseilles, France.

First up is the Quiksilver King Of The Groms event that took place in Cape Town recently. After some serious negotiations with the local authorities, the people involved in the event were allowed a back entrance to Witsands in order to avoid the hundreds of thousands of cyclists who were hurtling madly around in the Cape in the Argus Cycle Tour.

The waves at Witsands for the event varied from good to excellent, with the best wave of the event reserved for last with Nick Godfrey paddling into thick double-up and getting a perfect tube ride, as well as a perfect ten-point ride. The wave saw him secure victory over Brendon Gibbens in the U20 division.

The premier U16 Grom Division looked like it was going to be all about Mikey February until he got starved in the final and an on-form Devin Lane slides into first. High-action surfing from the country’s best juniors and groms, as well all the coverage of the nu-school Virgin Mobile Expression Session.

This episode finishes off with a Quik Session for all the skaters out there. This sick little session has Daniel Cardone and the whole of the European Quik Skate Team attacking The Bowl in Marseilles in France. Some fast skating and some of the crew putting down some huge tricks and airs. Remember that Boardriders TV is now broadcast at the prime time viewing slot of Monday 18h00 on Supersport, with repeats during the week.
