Girls, Thrills and Spills for Episode 6!
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 April, 2008 : - - The year is marching on relentlessly, and we’re already onto episode 6 of the popular boardriding program Boardriders TV. This latest offering has it all, from the country’s top girls surfing in remote Mozambique, to a particular hairy snowboarding event at Jackson Hole.
First up it’s girl time, as the best female surfers head up to Ponto Do Oro in Southern Mozambique to battle it out for R10,000 at the Roxy Invitational Mozambique presented by Saltwater Girl Magazine.
Excellent waves and hot surfing punctuate this section, with all the girls busting their big moves and Heather Clark from Port Shepstone taking the first place prize. The girls scored incredible waves and weather and they rip the long right-handers of Ponto Do Oro to pieces.
Next up is the Quiksilver Natural Selection: All Mountain Invitational snowboarding event. This event, the brainchild of Travis Rice, was held at Jackson Hole, WY, at the legendary Casper Bowl run. Each rider dropped from the top of the mountain into a field of soft, untracked snow and launched impossible airs over boulders and trees, in a bid to win this sick event.
Big airs and insane tricks were the order of the day, with US$75,000 sitting in the total prize pool. The event was also won by Rice, and he pocketed US$18,000 for his efforts. So if you want to see some ridiculous snowboarding and high-action drama, check out this section.
Remember that Boardriders TV is now broadcast at the prime time viewing slot of Monday 18h00 on Supersport, with repeats during the week.
