Mambo settles into a new home
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 May, 2008 : - - Iconic clothing label Mambo has moved across town and is now ensconced on the northern beaches after taking over the former Surfection headquarters in North Manly. Managing director Angus Kingsmill, of Clontarf, said it was his plan to base the international brand in his own patch from the time the private equity group he headed won its buy-out bid for the label in February.
He said the company would start to refurbish the premises in the next couple of weeks to accommodate a team that had grown from three to 16 since then. He said this was expected to grow to 20 by the end of the year once back-office functions now being outsourced were brought back in-house, but all key creative and production roles had now been filled.
He said Mambo had appointed Elisha Guilfoyle, who has moved back to Australia after working with Abercrombie & Fitch in the US, as its head of design as well as former Quiksilver designer Ben Noble to take charge of the men's ranges. National sales manager is Nicole McGlashan formerly of Camilla & Mark while Simone Ellis is working as head of retail.
