Greenlight wins "Greenest Board" Category at AB3 East

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 May, 2008 : - - The 'Anything But Three' East (AB3) event went down at Hudson Ave in Harvey Cedars, LBI, New Jersey on Sunday May 4th. The AB3 events are beach gatherings of alternative board riders and craftsmen where innovative designs and ideas are shared and surfed by all.

Greenlight Surfboards took away 1st prize for the "greenest board" category with a quiver of boards hand built with exotic natural materials. Greenlight boards feature recyclable EPS foam cores with laminated bamboo stringers reinforced with lightweight bamboo veneers and Greenlight's innovative bamboo fiberglass.

These eco-boards are vacuum bagged with low VOC epoxy in a vacuum system run on electricity provided by a local wind-power program. Greenlight Surfboards also include a bio-plastic leash plug and fin box molded from corn starch as well as hand foiled bamboo fins.

Greenlight also displayed surfboards built with their complete do-it-yourself kits. The kits were developed to make it easy for every surfer to build a quality and fun to ride eco-board at home. Kits include all the materials, tools, instruction, and online support to provide knowledge and confidence for first time shapers.

Dozens of surfers have now successfully completed and surfed their own shapes built with Greenlight kits and are stoked about the entire experience. Check out the Greenlight Surfer/Shaper picture gallery and customer testimonials on the site!
