Hard Rock Cafe Series, Quiksilver Kewalo Contest Completes HASA Season

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 May, 2008 : - - Honolulu -- The Hard Rock Cafe Surfing Series completed it's last event for the season as the Quiksilver Kewalo event drew one hundred twenty competitors looking to gain points towards the Burger King State Championship to be held next month.

Two to three foot faces on the south shore reef break raised the bar once again for the top level amateurs. In the Menehune division Kaulana Apo took top honors along with Kaito Kino (Boys), John John Florence (Junior Men) and Davin Jaime in the Mens 2A.

In the highly competitive Open Men division, Waianae's Hizon Linkee took tops in beating out Ronson Silva and Evyn Tyndzik respectively. With the Quiksilver contest completed, surfers from all over the state of Hawaii converge at the Ala Moana Bowl from June 4th through 6th for the Burger King State Surfing Championship.
