Hawaii Ocean Film Festival announces 'call for for all films'

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 13 May, 2008 : - - This week the Hawaii Ocean Film Festival will announce its 'Call For Films' on Marine Resources, Ocean Recreation, and our Cultural Connections to the Sea.  The HOFF presents a unique opportunity to match the voices and visions of ocean sports enthuisiasts and environmental projects through the medium of independent film.

Celebrating our ninth year presenting films on Surfing, Sailing, SCUBA, Paddling, voyaging, and environmental issues, we are expanding our events to include workshops on action filmmaking techniques, underwater equipment (rebreathers, nitrox) camera equipment and housings, and related topics

We kick-off our event at Sunset on the big outdoor screen on Hanalei Bay, August 23. The festival presents the top ten independent short films submitted from around the world in the short, (2-9 minute) medium (10 - 30 min.)and feature length formats. Last year events were also held at Waimea Theater, Storybook Theater, and UH Manoa.

The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2008. Hawaii Ocean Film Festival P.O. Box 1228 Hanalei HI 96714 (808) 652-3392
