Surf Wear Company Lizzard Making A Difference In Australia
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 14 May, 2008 : - - International surf wear company Lizzard Australia isn’t just passionate about surfing. Fresh to the Australian market, the clothing company is working towards making Australia a better place by supporting the Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal.
As part of their first foray into professional surfing in Australia, Lizzard’s female brand Lizzy backed the first round of the inaugural Lizzy Surf Series at Surfers Paradise last weekend. In an attempt to change the lives of individuals and families in need, the apparel company initiated a ‘towel swap’ during the all-female tournament.
Surfers competing in the event traded their towels for a brand new Lizzy towel with competitor’s towels being donated to the appeal. Lizzard’s Marketing Manager Brad Mackay was on hand throughout the tournament and is pleased to be making a difference.
“As a Corporate Citizen, we feel it is our duty to help those less fortunate and give something to the community and the many surfers and spectators at the comp acknowledged the fun aspect and were pleased to be able to contribute," said Mackay. "The Salvo’s do a great job. The fact that our comp coincided with their annual Red Shield Appeal, this small gesture of the towel swap may help them kick start the appeal which is great."
The next round of the all-new Lizzy Surf Series is to be held on the Sunshine Coast on June 21-22 before concluding on the Gold Coast on November 15-16.
