Harry The Bear surfs into his third adventure

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 May, 2008 : - - Newport Beach, Ca – Giddy Up Productions announced today the release of 'Harry’s Cosmic Surf Adventure', the third installment in the popular 'Harry The Bear' children’s book series.  In his newest adventure, Harry and his friends encounter friendly surf aliens and go on an amazing space surf trip.

Along the way, Harry and his pals have epic time shredding the galaxy waves and meeting new friends. During their adventure, the pals realize that protecting the environment is key to be able to continue surfing their sacred spots.

The “Harry the Bear” children’s book series was born out of the mind of author David Giddings, when one night his son Addison had a dream of a bear chasing him wearing roller skates, thus “Harry the Bear” was conceived. Giddings channeled his love of action spots and raising four children, into writing children’s books.

“I believe if kids read about things they do and are excited about, it will increase their desire to read,” said Giddings.  Reading is a lifelong pleasure and is an important skill to help kids become successful along the path of life.”

The author not only wants to promote the importance of reading, but the environment as well.  The latest installment teaches readers that protecting our environment is key and is printed using environmentally practices. “I have always believed it is paramount to educate people about the need for clean beaches and oceans,” said Giddings.

“I grew up surfing River Jetties in Newport Beach and I know what polluted water can do. The Ocean is our playground and greatest asset and we need to promote action to make changes to protect this treasure, which we ultimately pass down to the next generation.”

“Harry’s Cosmic Surf Adventure” was illustrated by Animator-Director-Illusionist, Ron Noble. Currently, Noble is animation creator and illustrator running his own independent studio called, NobleTown in Los Angeles, CA.

Prior to NobleTown, Noble was an animation director at Klasky Csupo Studios in Los Angeles directing award winning television shows such as; “Rugrats”, “The Wild Thornberrys”, “Rocket Power”, “As Told By Ginger” and “All Grown Up”.  Noble won an Emmy for directing “Rugrats” and will be showing his newest creation, “Hope Springs Eternal”, at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.

The “Harry the Bear” children’s book series applies real-life challenges that children face and deliver it in a relevant, clever and positive atmosphere. These stories teach children through action, fun and a bit of adversity.

Whether a kid is looking down a half-pipe and afraid of dropping in, or getting discouraged with difficult homework, “Harry the Bear” teaches children to conquer their fears, and GO FOR IT!  These stories are also intended to promote core values and ethics such as promoting teamwork, the value of friendship, confidence and respect.

“Harry’s Cosmic Surf Adventure” is available at Killer Dana San Clemente, Dana Point and Lake Forest, CA; Mac and Madie, San Clemente, CA; First Page Book Stores Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, CA; and by visiting harrythebear.com.

When pro-surfer David Giddings isn’t riding waves or tearing up the slopes, he’s writing about these adventures in his X-series of children’s books.
The stories are natural creations for Giddings, who is a longtime action sports enthusiast and proud father of four. Giddings was born and raised in Newport Beach, CA and currently resides in San Clemente, CA with his wife and four children.
