Another Day Off for the Globe Pro Fiji
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 May, 2008 : - - Tavarua -- The Globe Pro Fiji will not run today. The two to three foot conditions currently on offer are expected to morph into much bigger waves later this weekend and into next week. Event officials have eight days in which to complete just one full day of competition. When competition does resume, Australia’s Dayyan Neve will endeavor to post more scores like the 9.83 that helped him eliminate Jordy Smith (ZAF) in Round 3. “I haven’t actually done better than a ninth since I’ve been on the ASP World Tour so I’ve equaled my best result,” Neve said. “I plan on making it my best result.” Neve will have to beat Reigning ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) to advance into the quarterfinals of the Globe Pro Fiji. Fanning and Neve will meet in Heat 5 of Round 4. Another call on competition status will be made tomorrow morning at 7am.
