SIMA Surfing America USA Championships presented by PacSun readies

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 June, 2008 : - - The SIMA Surfing America USA Championships presented by PacSun is just two months away! August 19-24 @ Huntington Beach Pier. The 2009 PacSun USA Surf Team will be announced on Sunday August 24th! We would like to inform everyone that invitations to the USA Championships will be determined by your Member Organization within the next week.

Surfing America Member Organizations are:
Eastern Surfing Assocation (ESA)
Western Surfing Association (WSA)
Hawaii Surfing Association (HSA)
Texas Gulf Surfing Association (TGSA)

NOTE TO NSSA ATHLETES:
NSSA invitations will be allocated as Surfing America Wildcards and will be determined by the Surfing America Selection Committee (based upon NSSA National results and season long ratings).

Watch for entry forms to arrive in early July. Entry deadline for all competitors is August 1st.
 
ABOUT THE SIMA SURFING AMERICA USA CHAMPIONSHIPS PRES. BY PACSUN
The premiere event, which decides the undisputed USA Surfing Champions by pooling top talent from the ESA, HSA, NSSA, TGSA, and WSA, also determines the 2009 PacSun USA Surf Team which represents the United States in international competition.  The USA Championships is the foremost event in American junior surfing and include an ASP-certified panel of judges, live scoring and four-person, twenty-minute heats.
