Amber Alert dropped for Pichilemu Chile World Cup Tow-In Champs

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 July, 2008 : - - Well, for the moment all is looking calm on the home front and the hype of the giant forecasted swells have taken their toll. We have officially dropped the AMBER ALERT, but only for the moment! There is still plenty of activity down in the southern hemisphere, so stay tuned and keep your eyes wide open.

Talk about an emotional roller coaster. AMBER ALERTS can be very exciting but they are also very stressful especially when you are dealing with so many involved international competitors, media outlets, pre airline ticketing for APT staffing and judges, location logistics and staffing, media press releases, swell forecasting and not to mention the hundreds of phone calls, emails and the  around the clock computer work and swell model checks.

Nevertheless, we are ready when Mother Nature is ready to play and stop testing us with the dry runs sort of speak. Drills are good, they put everyone on their toes and it is good fun practice, but now we want to have the real deal delivered! Enough is enough, now bring it on!

Please stay on alert just in case things light up again. In the mean time, we are preparing an official press release stating the extension of the holding period thru September 15, 2008.

We want to thank everyone involved in this event for their patience, efforts and support up to this point. Especially, we need to thank Flecha down in Chile who is making this event possible for us. Let's keep the dream and faith alive and it will happen! Keep in mind, ALL competitors still need to contact Claudia and let her know how you wish to bunk up in the hotel. You can choose to do one room per team or up to three teams per room.

Once we are on green light status and you have made your airline reservations, you can confirm your arrival days and times with Claudia for  your ground transportation needs.
