    15 April - 15 July 2008

Things are looking really good once again and we are back on Amber Alert

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 31 July, 2008 : - - We have been monitoring a potentially large swell that is currently in development in the southern pacific and if it holds, we could see solid 40' face heights for Wednesday August 6th. Kevin at Surfline has indicated that the forecasted swell will be  out of the SSW and  should be in the 15'-18' range, with 16-17 second periods and with a  light south wind.

This system is however boarder line for our minimum wave height requirement and if it drops at all in the next 36 hours then chances are we will not make the call to have the event. However, if the swell holds or strengthens then chances are we will make the call to have the event. If we call the event on then here is how things will unfold:

Saturday August 2nd, - Make the final call - If we call the event on then below is the schedule of events

Monday August 4th - All APT staff to arrive in Pichilemu, Chile

    Tuesday August 5th - All competitors and media to arrive in Pichilemu, Chile Competitors sign-in and practice session - 8:00 A.M.- 6:00 P.M. Competitors meeting - 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
