In 2007, the USA Championships were noted as the premier event in American junior surfing, thanks to a WCT/WQS panel of judges, live scoring and four-person, twenty-minute heats. Although, the event is youth focused, it still holds divisions for elder surfers as well.
The schedule of events is as follows:

The final heat draw and schedule will be posted by Saturday, August 16th at surfingamerica.org. There will also be a live webcast of the event on August 22-44 at surfingamerica.org.
Surfline, the Official Forecaster of the SIMA Surfing America USA Championships, is calling for waist-high surf to start off the six day event, with a decent pulse of south swell later in the week. Although, the potential exists for the tropics to flare up next week as well. Surfline will be providing updates as conditions develop further.

“SIMA is proud to return as the title sponsor of the Surfing America USA Championships on behalf of our 200 member companies,” said Dick Baker, SIMA’s Chairman Emeritus. “These championships are an important opportunity for SIMA to show its support of up-and-coming surf talent and we’re excited to be part of an event that showcases our country’s young surfers.”
