Josh Kerr Claims 3rd Place at both Lacanau and Hossegor WQS events

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 August, 2008 : - - Rusty Rider and 2007 WCT surfer, Josh Kerr set the show and reached semi-finals during the two big WQS French events in Lacanau and Hossegor.

During the two most important events of the European Season, Josh was pushing the boundaries of the competitive surfing format. With his own style, the flying Aussie impressed the public, the judges and even the other competitors. In every heat, Kerr offered up a demonstration of progressive surfing with air reverses, enormous alley oops and big layback hacks which had competitors and spectators alike betting on him as the favorite to win both events.

Although falling short with the changing conditions where he couldn’t find any waves, Josh was still stoked to settle with his two third place finishes.

“I had a lot of fun today but I am still bummed with that 3rd, the second one in two weeks … I will have to work on that last heat and victory because I want to win. I have had several finals including one here three years ago but I want to win." Said Josh still satisfied of the show he offered up to the crowd.

However, Kerzy’s International campaign remains positive and after the last 2 French events and only seven events surfed, Josh stands at the 3rd spot of the 2008 WQS rankings. Despite now looking solid for re-qualification Josh is still contemplating his options and doesn’t know if he will accept his ticket on the 2009 Dream Tour.
