Rip Curl’s Colin Moran Secures Spot on the 2009 USA Surf Team

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 August, 2008 : - - Directly following the Surfing America USA Championships this past Sunday, Coach Joey Buran, announced the 2009 Surfing America USA Surf Team. This year’s team is made up of the nation’s best 18 and under surfers all proving themselves throughout the year in their respected regions. But as it showed true, surfing well in the USA Championships proved to be the make it or break it factor for this year’s team.

With last years team being called the most dominate in years for the USA and coming up with a disappointing Copper metal at the ISA World Championships in France, this year is more than ever a time to prove themselves. Colin did not get the chance to travel with the team last year, but with the work ethic he has shown and the way his surfing has progressed over the year there is no doubt this year is promising for the young regular footer form Costa Mesa California.

An enthusiastic Joey Buran stated, “This was our hardest worker last year and the progression showed through. Surfing more heats than any other super junior we are proud to welcome back Colin Moran of Costa Mesa California.”

He may be young, but with the undeniable talent and focus Moran has showed as a competitive surfer, a bright future is rapidly approaching. The USA Team is set and Rip Curl could not be more pumped up to have Colin as our representative.

With more to come form Colin Moran and the entire Rip Curl team make sure to log on to Ripcurl.com for all the up to date news and results.
