Montanaro Gallery presents new Surf Art Nouveau exhibit

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 August, 2008 : - - Montanaro Gallery is very pleased to present 'Surf Art Nouveau' featuring all new surfing inspired works by over 25 leading visual artists. All are welcome to join us for an Opening Reception on Saturday, September 13th from 7-10pm in our 18 Franklin Street gallery in Newport, Rhode Island.

Surf Art Nouveau is Montanaro Gallery's largest and most diverse group show to date. Conceptuallized by Michael Montanaro more than a year ago, this exhibit brings the older art movement known as Art Nouveau together with a modern sport of Surfing and all new creations by talented Contemporary artists.

Since the early 1880's Art Nouveau has been a leading source of inspiration to thousands of artists and designers from all over the world. Pioneers such as Alphonse Mucha, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Gustav Klimt helped spread this movement to all corners of the earth.

From posters and decorative panels to architectural designs, jewelry, sculpture, photographs, books, and interiors, Art Nouveau secured its' place in art history.

Participating artists include Randy Noborikawa, John Severson, Tyler Warren, Lucas Lundgren, Ned Evans, Julie Goldstein, Adrian Massie, Elizabeth Montanaro, Wade Koniakowsky, Glenn Martin, Spencer Reynolds, Andrew Jacob, Bart Hopkins, Andrew Sloan, Ben Brough, Ty Williams, Michael Montanaro, Bonzi, Vincenzo Ganadu, Shannon Menzil, George Bates, Alexander Brown and more...
