One Winter Story hits the big screen in Hawaii, Cali & NYC

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 August, 2008 : - - Frank Films is pleased to announce that One Winter Story will screen at the Palace Theater in Hilo on Saturday, September 6th at 6:30pm. Also screening that night will be 'The Punaluu Experience,' a film by Danny Miller (26min.).

The screening is apart of the Hawaii Film Ho'ike, an event sponsored by the theater, The County of Hawaii, and the Big Island Film Commission, and features films made in Hawaii by residents of Hawaii. We are proud to be included in this inaugural event and hope that anyone who missed our island tour in 2006 as a part of the Hawaii International Film Festival, will come to the screening!

NEW YORK - September 27, 6pm, The New York Surf Film Festival, Tribeca Cinemas

The New York Surf Film Festival will be held at Tribeca Cinemas in lower Manhatten, and will consist of "three days of screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established surf filmmakers." Frank Films is an official selection and one or both filmmakers will be in attendance in NY.

SAN DIEGO - Saturday, October 4 (time and location in San Diego announced in September)

Sally and Elizabeth are invited guests at the San Diego Women's Film Festival to present One Winter Story, and discuss the film. More information to come in September.

SHELL BEACH, CALIFORNIA - Thursday & Friday, October 9th and 10th, 7pm, La Perla Del Mar Chapel - A Benefit for the San Luis Obispo Women's Shelter.

Sarah Gerhardt grew up in and around San Luis Obispo, and we are happy to finally screen One Winter Story near her hometown! We hope that her many friends and family that have been inspired by this amazing woman will attend one of the screenings. Both filmmakers and Sarah herself will be in attendance. The screenings will take place in the beautiful La Perla Del Mar chapel in Shell Beach.

Elizabeth's photo exhibit at the Thoreau Gallery has been extended until September 4th. Her photos, printed on objects such as wood and fiberglass found on the beach, are part of the "Water" exhibit, featuring art inspired by our most precious resource. Check it out at THE THOREAU GALLERY, Thoreau Center for Sustainability, The Presidio of San Francisco, 1014 Torney Avenue at Lincoln Boulevard, San Francisco.

For a second year, Elizabeth's photos were also part the Alma Surf Festival, which travels around Brazil each summer. Elizabeth is especially honored to be a part of the event again as all the international artists, films, and musicians are selected by invitation only. The festival has been named by Surfer Magazine as the greatest of all surf culture events in the world.

Come experience the real beauty of Hamakua! Recent renovations have been completed on the Lundburg/Tallett family farm on the Big Island, and they now provide an apartment in the main house for a farm stay - as a vacation or short term rental. Sally, her husband Keith, and mom Kaye, are committed to supporting local agriculture in Hawaii and to the restoration of native forests. They have additionally launched a farm business that includes marketing fresh produce & eggs to the local community, and the propagation of native plants and trees.
