Bryan Hewitson signs on as Ocean & Earth East Coast rep

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 August, 2008 : - - In a recent string of stellar industry personell acquisitions Ocean and Earth has recently hired East Coast professional surfer and sales rep Bryan Hewitson to lead the new team of reps positioned to take O&E to it's rightful place in the core retail environment.

The restructuring of O&E's internal sales squad began with legendary sales manager Rob Willis. A former East Coast shop owner himself, Rob transitioned from his store, to Billabong rep, then eventually National Sales Manager for Billabong for more than seven years.

After guiding Billabong through it's U.S. management change-over years Rob moved on to Rusty and eventually Mada as National Sales Manager fine-tuning his skill at brand-building through key retail placement.

Along the way Rob helped nurture the talents of one of the Right Coasts most prominent and respected professional surfers; Bryan Hewitson as he matured from sponsored surfer to in-field sales rep. Throughout their tenure together the duo has perfected the art of delivering brands to trusted retailers and customers through one of the U.S.'s most important territories; Florida.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that Hewey still consistently receives more editorial coverage than most of his contemporaries that are half his age. In short, Hewey isn't just one of the best reps on the East Coast, he's also one of the best sponsored surfers.

" Having Hewey on board as a rep is the best gift a team manager can possibly have', said Matt Patterson, O&E marketing director. "Hewey was on the cover of ESM just a couple months ago, and he is sure to win another skins event at the Inlet in the years to come, he's just too good".

In a paralleled move on the West Coast, Willis has found an equally dual-talented athlete/rep in San Diego-based longboarder Sean Haggar. "The rep force that Rob is creating for us just happens to consist of a bunch of ripping surfers, but each of these guys are brand mavens who totally understand our mission and can bring the brand to life in multiple dimensions," said Patterson. "Both Sean and Hewey are delivering our message to retail in the most credible way possible".

Ocean and Earth is a thirty-year-old heritage brand originally created in Sussex Inlet, Australia and distributed in over 50 countries.
