Stephanie Keith is the new ISA Managing Director   |  (En Español abajo)

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 September, 2008 : - - The International Surfing Association (ISA) is proud to welcome Stephanie Keith as its new Managing Director. Stephanie comes with a very strong background in event management and TV production and was selected from a field of over 90 applicants.

She will support the ISA President in the managing of the day to day expanding operations of the Surfriding World Governing Authority, including the relationship with hosts of our yearly events and the expansion of the ISA Scholarship, as well as in the areas of communications with the global sports bodies.

Stephanie has over seven years in the sports and entertainment industry, with the past three years specifically dedicated to producing live televised events across the globe.  Her expertise highlights effective global communications with a wide variety of personalities and personnel, event management and day to day operational matters. Native to Southern California, Stephanie resides in San Diego with her husband, Sebastian, and dog Nalu.

ISA President, Fernando Aguerre said: "Stephanie’s skill set and experience is the proper match for the ISA as we move forward and consolidate all the programs launched in the last 24 months, such as the ISA Scholarship, Surfing in the Olympics, and new sponsorships for the ISA major events. All these developments have provided a substantial increase in opportunities for all and each National Federation. Stephanie joins Joie Jacala and me at the Head Office to better server our member Federations."

“I am honoured to have been selected as the new Managing Director of the International Surfing Association. It is a true reward to be able to combine my passion for event producing and the ocean with a non-profit organization that strives to make a difference in the lives of others,” commented Stephanie on her first day in the ISA Headquarters.   

About her expectations as the new Managing Director, she said: “I look forward to working with ISA President, Fernando Aguerre, and the entire Executive Committee in an effort to further expand the sport of surfing.  The ISA World Surfing Games, ISA World Masters Surfing Championship and the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Championship are the carpe diem of the sport.  It is the underlying goals and mission of the ISA that capture my attention.  The development programs, specifically the Olympic movement, Individual Scholarship Program and Adapted Surfing Program will only help to shape the future of the sport .”

“I found my niche in the business world – event producing.  When not working, my personal life entails travelling, being outdoors and, of course, the ocean.  I love the ISA because it enables me to combine my business and personal pleasures in one!  The perfect formula for a happy life.”  

Stephanie comes to the ISA in a crucial moment for our sport history.  With the ISA having a full schedule of activities, Stephanie will be there working for a better surfing future.

Stephanie Keith es la nueva Directora Ejecutiva de la ISA

La International Surfing Association (ISA) se enorgullece en darle la bienvenida a Stephanie Keith como su Directora Ejecutiva. Stephanie acarrea una gran experiencia en dirección de eventos y producción de TV y fue seleccionada de entre más de 90 aspirantes.

Ella estará apoyando al Presidente de la ISA en la dirección de las crecientes operaciones diarias de la Autoridad Gobernante en el Mundo de todas las actividades de deslizamiento en olas, incluyendo el relacionamiento con los anfitriones de nuestros eventos anuales y la expansión de la Beca de la ISA además de las áreas de comunicaciones con los cuerpos deportivos globales.

Stephanie ha sido parte durante más de siete años de la industria del entretenimiento deportivo, con los últimos tres años siendo específicamente dedicados a la producción de eventos televisados en vivo alrededor del mundo. Sobre sus expectativas como nueva Directora Ejecutiva, dijo: “Quiero trabajar junto al Presidente de la ISA, Fernando Aguerre, y todo el Comité Ejecutivo, buscando expandir el deporte del surfing. Los ISA World Surfing Games, ISA World Masters Surfing Championship y el Quiksilver ISA World Junior Championship son el carpe diem del deporte. Son las metas subyacentes de la ISA las que capturaron mi atención. Los programas de desarrollo, especialmente el Movimiento Olímpico, el Programa de Becas Individuales y el Surfing Adaptado ayudarán a formar el futuro del deporte."
