DAY 3 OF "MURASAKI PRO KITAIZUMI" BONGA PERKINS TAKES HIGHEST SCORE HONOR

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 September, 2008 : - - ASP LQS 2 STAR event "THE SUN'S PRO LONG CLASSIC KITAIZUMI" got into action today as event commenced with the round of 72 followed by the round of 60 and round of 48. The top seeded surfers got into action from the round of 48.

Kitaizumi this morning enjoyed 1 to 2 ft. surf in the morning. As the day went on the slight rain weather appeared at Kitaizumi but also brought the swell to 3 ft. conditions in the afternoon with the rising tide. As the top seeded round of 48 got into action, Bonga Perkins(HAW) surfed in heat 4 as the first seed surfer in event.

Perkins slammed hard on the wave and slashed hard to score an excellent 9.50 and backed it up with a 7.00 and took honor of both wave and heat high scores of today. Event organizers plan tomorrow's action will go into round of 24, followed by round of 12 then into the quarter finals for the LQS.

WQS action to follow with round of 16 then to the quarter finals. The pro junior event will also follow and commence on September 6th. All events will come to the grand final day Sunday September 7th. Over 200 surfers, domestic and international, from Hawaii and Australia are all ready to battle. DAY 2 OF "MURASAKI PRO KITAIZUMI" TOP SEEDED SURFERS IN ACTION.

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 September, 2008 : - - The ASP WQS 2 STAR event "MURASAKI PRO KITAIZUMI" Day 2 got into action with event top seeded surfers to surf first time at this event. Kitaizumi enjoyed another beautiful day with 2 ft. size surf all day. As the tide went out the surfers who won yesterday challenged the seeded surfers.

Top seeded surfers went straight to business and Darren Turner(AUS) was the surfer on fire today. Turner scored the wave high score of the day with an excellent 9.00 and also took the highest heat combination score to the 16.00 points.

As the day went into afternoon action, the south winds turned on and the conditions turned choppy. The key to winning turned from the size of wave to catch to the right position for catching the correct waves to score high. The surfers with high tactics went to succeed. The surfers who made it through today will surf in the round of 16 scheduled for day after tomorrow. The quarter finals on man on man will follow.

Tomorrow day 3 at Kitaizumi, the event will run the LQS round of 72,followed by round of 60 and 48. Friday this event will go on to the round of 24,followed by round of 12 then into the quarter finals.

The pro junior event will also follow and commence on September 6th.

All events will come to the grand final day Sunday September 7th. Over 200 surfers, domestic and international, from Hawaii and Australia are all ready to battle. Do not miss the action at Kitaizumi.
