DC Opens Fourth Flagship in Orange County
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 September, 2008 : - - DC, a subsidiary of Quiksilver, Inc., opened its fourth flagship store in the Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine, CA. DC hosted a grand opening event on Saturday, September 20th. Located in the heart of Orange County, this is the closest flagship store to open to DC headquarters in North County, San Diego.
“We’re excited to be opening our next flagship store in our own backyard,” said Kelly Magrath, DC vice president of marketing. “DC’s heritage is from Southern California, and it’s a great location for our brand as the action sports industry continues to flourish and grow.”
Located within one of Southern California’s most popular shopping areas, the Irvine Spectrum Center is visited by more than 10 million people every year. This new flagship store will showcase DC’s growing mainstream apparel and footwear lines, while at the same time highlighting the brand’s premium athletic skate and snow lines.
It will offer DC’s latest products for men, women and kids including: skateboarding shoes, apparel and accessories; women’s shoes, apparel and accessories; lifestyle footwear and apparel; and seasonal product such as outerwear, snowboarding boots and accessories. Snowboards, the newest addition to DC’s product line, will also be sold at the Irvine store later this year.
The store utilizes many of the same design aesthetics as the Melrose store that opened last year in Los Angeles, Calif., and reflects DC’s skateboarding and action sports lifestyle and heritage. An inverted vert ramp lines the ceiling as visitors first enter the store.
Displayed throughout the store are a variety of large format images featuring DC’s world-class team of athletes and iconic moments in the brand’s history. These images will change throughout the year, creating a photo gallery of DC images.
The DC Irvine Spectrum Center store is located at 71 Fortune Drive, Suite 824 in Irvine, CA. Within the last year, DC has opened two flagship stores in Park City, Utah and Los Angeles, Calif. DC’s first retail location opened in New York’s popular Soho district in Spring 2006.
