    5 - 9 November 2008

Final Leg of the Oxbow World Longboard Tour: San Onofre

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 September, 2008 : - -  From November 5th to 9th this year, the American stage of the Oxbow World Longboard Tour will take place on the beach of San Onofre. Oxbow and the International Association of Surfing Professionals (the ASP) will organize the event, which brings together the 48 best longboarders in the world.

A traditional sponsor of longboarding, Oxbow has re-launched a true World Tour with two events in 2008, each featuring $50,000 US in prize money. These major longboarding competitions gather new talents such as Antoine Delpero, Harley Ingleby, along with the biggest stars of the sport: Duane de Soto, world champion Phil Rajzman, and former world champions Bonga Perkins and Colin McPhillips.

For this final event, the famous beach of San Onofre proved to be the best spot to battle for the crown of world champion. The cradle of surfing in America, this revered site, rich with the history of the sport, will now witness an epic clash between New School specialists and the guardians of the Old School.

You too can follow this event on oxbowpro.com from November 5 through 9, 2008.
