Adrian Buchan Third at Mundaka - Moves to 7th on the ratings

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 October, 2008 : - - Australian surfer Adrian 'Ace' Buchan used his 1st place momentum gained at the Quik Pro France to post the second best result of his career. Adrian finished equal third at the Billabong Pro Mundaka on Saturday the 4th of October and with two events to go, Brazil and Pipe, Adrian now sits in 7th place on the ASP ratings.

“Mundaka is an amazing place and has such a great vibe. To do well there in good waves is a great feeling. It was amazing to finally score it after a few years of bad conditions. I love the wave and being a goofy foot, I think it suits my surfing really well.

It was great to use the momentum I got from France and post another big result and I’m sitting right where I want to be now. Obviously it would have been great to make it two in a row but I can’t really complain about a first and a third.

After my first 33rd in 18 months in Trestles, I had a good hard look at myself and really tried to put everything into the two events in Europe. I was super motivated and hungry to perform and it feels great to have done that.”

Adrian Buchan, a multiple world junior champion, is in his third year on the ASP World Championship Tour. After qualifying in 2006, Adrian injured himself only weeks prior to his first ever WCT event and had to sit out more than half of the year before starting his campaign at Trestles. At the end of 2007, his first full year on tour, Adrian was ranked 19th. After the last two events Adrian has now fully established himself within the ASP’s top 10.

Adrian Buchan is sponsored by Hurley, Dragon, 6 Star Surfboards, Gorilla Grip and is an athlete ambassador of the Reach Out Foundation.Adrian Buchan is represented by FMG (Friday Management Group). Other surfers represented by FMG are Marlon Lipke and Marc Lacomare. FMG is an action sports athlete management company, with a focus on quality before quantity.

FMG’s goal is to provide its clients the necessary support and guidance to help them develop and maximize their careers. FMG is founded on the principles of commitment, forging long-term relationships and a ‘nothing-is-impossible’ attitude. The company is formed by independent sports TV production specialists, Friday.
