    Girls Surfing Classic
Presented by Honey Ocean & Earth

    Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills
    27 - 28 September 2008

Girls surfing classic a huge success

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 October, 2008 : - - The fifth annual Mid North Coast Girls Surfing Classic, proudly sponsored by Honey Ocean & Earth was held at Rainbow Beach in Bonny Hills on September 27 and 28. The event attracted 65 competitors from the east coast of Australia with a total of 10 divisions of competition.

Club President, Robyn Wallace, said that the surf classic was a huge success and preparations for a 2009 competition were already underway. “This year we incorporated a beginners division which proved very popular and gives these girls an opportunity to show their unique style,” she said. “The classic also has a total of 26 local sponsors, which made the event possible.”

The Marketing Manager of the Ocean & Earth sponsor, Michael Pitt, said the contest reflected the true spirit of surfing and a wonderful celebration for women surfers. “The contest is unique in so many ways. The format of all competitors regardless of their age and ability are able to surf twice or three times, this format takes the cut throat, and sometimes intimidating edge out,” he said.
