10 Local Hotel Offer Surfing Packages on Christmas Island Starting from $420 a Week

And: The People of Fanning (Tabuaeran) Island through the Tabuaeran Island Council are offering 2 week trips to Fanning for the introductory price of $1,699. Max 11 surfers. By License Only There is some trouble from Christmas Island, right now though December we have lost our big jet service and surfboard must come down on a once a month cargo plane.

I can help with this and logistics.All Hotels are hurting because of the plane, all are willing to discount the above prices for multiple weeks.All rates cover air port pick up and drop off. All hotels have my help, as I know intimately, all the good waves since 1979. All rates cover thee meals a day.

Full time boat hire is not necessary as 1/3 of the waves are in London Town on the beach. Bring your family, girl friend and paddle out. Boat Hire: We have a list of small boats you can hire from $25 to $75 a day. Second Key: The Swell after arriving at SunSet Beach Hawaii N Swells take up to 40 hours to arrive. WNW Swells as short as 18 hours to arrive on Xmas. Third Key: What ever size SunSet Beach is, the swell size will drop by 63%. So if Sunset Beach is 8 to 12 foot Hawaiian (16' to 24' faces, the the swell will arrive 18 to 40 hours later at a maximum of 6 to 10 faces. And supper Clean Long Period.

On the Waimea and Max Jaw's (Peahi) Swells Xmas can get to 12 to a max of 18' foot Hawaiian (24 to 36' faces). There are three big waves that can Handle the "blue birds". Christmas Island News:The People of Christmas Island are part of the Republic of Kiribati and are one of the poorest countries in the world. They have no resources except tourism and fisheries. The people do value their surf resource and in today's island council meeting are considering the surf use license and no feral and or move in's. This will decided by the Island council October 9th.

Foreign Surfers will pay a Resource/Surf Use license of $50 a week. Conditions: Must stay in License Hotel. If not in licensed Hotel the License Use Fee will be $500 a week. They will consider a limit of 15 foreign surfers on island a week. Next Tabuaeran (Fanning Island Council) will consider the above.  Conditions: Must stay in Council Owned lodging located right on the beach.

In other news: Tabuaeran Local Surf Club will be having the first meeting Sunday 19 October. Chuck Corbett will be donating 16 surf boards, magazine, boogie boards, leaches, and surf videos. Now is the time to help the people realize the value of their perfect wave resource in paradise, before it is over run and overwhelmed by foreign surfers.

In Other News The Tabuaeran Surf Club and Friends of Fanning-Island.com are working to establish internet in all Kiribati over the next 6 months. 18 island are now with out proper communications. Phone calls are $9 to $18 for first three minutes, telegrams are 17 cents a word. Internet will bring this cost down to 3.5 cents a minute.

People die because of lack of communications. Lets help them step into the 21st Century!  It will be free to schools. Cost per Island $3,100 These islands all have surf, cover an area the size of the Continental US and need help. Total cost of Project US$45,000.
