This half-day event at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, Calif., running from noon – 4 p.m., will feature two seminars and lunch. Topics will include:
Session 1: Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - This session will highlight both legal requirements and practical advice regarding sexual harassment. Robert will discuss state and federal law regarding the definition of sexual harassment and what these definitions mean in everyday work life.
Using illustrative cases and drawing from real-life examples, Robert will also highlight the legal and personal consequences of sexual harassment, what is required of employers and supervisors, and ways to reduce/prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. This seminar will last 2 hours and thus will satisfy the requirements for mandatory sexual harassment training of supervisors under California law. Samantha will also discuss other topics that are relevant to every company, including how to deal with problem employees and the latest on non-competition agreements in California. Speaker: Samantha Hoffman / Jackson Lewis LLP The cost of the event is $50 per person for SIMA members and $85 per person for non-SIMA members.
