Sams Club presents 4th Annual Da Hui/Wolfpak North Shore Beach Clean Up & Winter Surf Pa’ina

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 October, 2008 : - - The Hui o He'e Nalu members are inviting everyone to take part in this pro-environmental event to express our Aloha for the ocean and the community that surrounds it.  An after-clean up Winter Surf Pa’ina (or Party) for the participants shall offer free food & non-alcoholic beverages donated by our sponsors.

Live, local Na Hoku Hanohano award winning performers such as: Paula Fuga, Vaihi, Troy Fernandez, Natural Vibrations & Rebel Souljahz; should keep everyone in positive spirits to keep the country, country and to protect our beaches!  The City & County of Honolulu Parks Department and Quiksilver are supporting our mission of keeping the ocean clean by donating gloves & trash bags for all participants.

Billabong, No Fear, Hurley, Volcom, Oakley and many other surf companies, along with various local businesses are also promoting and supporting this event.  Importantly, this will be a non-alcoholic & drug free event.  No drugs or alcohol will be permitted on Velzyland park grounds or parking area.  Honolulu Police Officers & Hawai’i Sheriff’s Department Deputies will be on hand to enforce our zero-tolerance drug & alcohol rule to ensure a safe, healthy and fun-filled event for all to enjoy.

Date of Beach Clean Up: Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 8:30am.  Pre-clean up meeting at Velzyland Park at 8:00am for clean up instructions and information.  The beach clean up will commence from Velzyland to Haleiwa, approximately 10 + miles long, covering roadways, bike paths and over 15 plus popular surf spots and beach parks making this the largest beach clean up on the North Shore and within the State of Hawai’i.

Many of the world’s top professional surfers such as Kala Alexander, Makua Rothman, Myles Padaca, Andy Irons, Bruce Irons, etc. - will be on hand to participate in this annual event, as this is their way to give back to the community who is a part of their success in the world of professional surfing.  We are also asking participants to bring one (1) non-perishable food item to be donated to the Hawai’i Food Bank.

We had over 300 participants last year and are confidant that the same, or more, participants will come out this year.  First 200 participants to bring one (1) can good will receive a free Da Hui sticker!
