Wave Tribe & Grain Surfboards Form Eco Partnership
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 18 November, 2008 : - - Ventura, Ca -- Being part of a tribe is a special feeling. Googling the word 'tribe' helps one can dig into its deeper meaning. Like most terms the word tribe has a multitude of variations, from a community of people who live together with a shared way of life to a group that centers around kinship.
Of all the various definitions the one that really resonates with the vision behind Wave Tribe is "a group of people able to support a level of subsistence based on a common vision." Perhaps the greatest challenge as surfers is sharing our common vision, we struggle to align our personal interest of experiencing that perfect wave with protecting the very oceanic fabric that allows for our mystical salt water adventure.
Out of the depths of a collaborative spirit people surface to connect---tribe's people reach out and respond to a common call to action and they recognize the vitality of exploring a shared vision forward, toward a new way of being, relating, living, working, and most importantly, surfing.
In partnering Grain Surfboards and Wave Tribe have answered that common call and recognized a similar vision in each other's individual mission, and in celebration they are offering a free Wave Tribe hemp surfboard bag with each Grain wood surfboard kit. Each surfboard kit comes with all the material you need to build your own board including: board frame, cedar planks and rail strips, wood scraps, fin box, leash plug, waterproof glue, fiberglass, epoxy, squeegee, mixing buckets and rubber gloves.
A detailed 170-page instruction manual tells you how to assemble it all. Surfboard kits are put together by hand in Maine from locally grown, sustainably harvested northern white cedar by Grain Surfbaords. Join the tribe, order a kit and know that each step towards sustainability is a step towards harmony on the land and in the ocean.
