Volcom team manager Matt Bemrose caught up with Connor Gale on what he’s been up to, his upcoming plans and his thoughts on Volcom Stone’s VQS Crustaceous Tour. Here’s what the little Tyke had to say.

“Early this year I had my first big win, taking out the Manly Warringah Under 14’s Regional Titles. Since then I have just been up to Newcastle a couple of times competing in the Teenage Rampage and also the VQS event held up there 2 weeks ago. I’ve also been surfing new breaks up and down the coast with my dad. I am Just trying to surf as many comps as I can, the Volcom VQS event at Avalon this weekend,

O & E at Curl Curl in December, RipCurl gromsearch in Jan. I am really just trying to have fun surfing contests and gain some experience along the way.  I'm stoked to have the Volcom VQS event at my home break, surfing against my mates. I'll be giving it my best shot to qualify for the VQS Australian Championship event at Manly in April next year.

I like the vibe of the Volcom contests & hanging down the beach with my mates getting heaps of giveaways and heaps of fun games and activities happening all day long”.

Finalists  will qualify for the Australian VQS Championships at Manly Beach on  the 3rd and 4th of April 2009 where there will be 4 champs crowned  with the Junior & Pro-Am winners will be flown to the Newport Beach,  California to represent Australia and  battle it out for over US$100,000.00 cash purse at the Totally Crustaceous  VQS World Champs!
