Adam Robertson blogs on big boards, Hawaiian season

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 November, 2008 : - - Back on the rock that is Hawaii!I arrived on the 9th of November which was 3 days before the event began. We had a few days to cruise and start riding our big boards before the event at Haleiwa started. This year i got all my boards made by Wayne Lynch,

I have had some big boards from him in the past and i know how well they ride so I was really confident in him being able to make me some great boards. I also have some of my old Simon Andersons from previous years that i know go really well too. This year i have 12 boards over here, a 5'11 quad, 6'1, 6'2, 6'4, 6'6, 2x 6'9's, 7'0, 2x 7'3's a 7'6 and a 7'10 so i'm covered for almost all conditions.

I lost in my round of 96 heat in haleiwa which was pretty devastating. I felt like i was surfing really well with a 7.77 and a 5.5, needing a score for the last 10 minutes and no sets breaking was really frustrating. but now i have to pick up the pieces and try and go mad at sunset.

The last few days I've been practising out there and I'm trying to learn the line ups out there in all conditions. So hopefully i can end the year on a high note. My boards feel awesome and i feel like im surfing good so hopefully i can bring my A game and everything will go to plan.
