ASP WQS Situation Room: Who's in & Who's out for the 2009 Mens Tour ?

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 November, 2008 : - - ASP's numbers crunching guru Al Hunt worked into the night after the Reef Hawaiian Pro was completed, focussing on the Men’s final WQS ratings possibilities. Click here to view the projections tabulated for the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset. The places outlined with double borders are the minimum the surfer needs to pass the current 11,450 points required.

Of course the current cutoff of 11,450 points could rise, so better/higher points would be needed. There are 24 guys, down to 40th Dan Ross, outside the 11,450 top 15 that could possibly qualify. However not all can get a 1st or 2nd so mathematically only 12 could get the points. The O'Neill World Cup of Surfing starting on Monday, will be an interesting event, and provide the final outcome of who is in and who is out.
