The Earthworms win Salt Rock Lizzard tag event #4

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 November, 2008 : - - The fourth edition of the Lizzard Tag Series event which was completed at Salt Rock Main Beach on Saturday November 22 was supported by a record number of surfers who came from all parts of the KZN Coastline to take part in a successful and entertaining event.

Conditions were ideal for Tag surfing thanks to a gentle north east wind and contestable surf which played it’s part, delivering great waves throughout. Nine teams of five surfers competed in the event which was won by the Earthworms, consisting of Slade Prestwich, Keagan Neveling, Damien Stander and Chanelle Botha. The winning team members pocketed R625 each.

The Bintins, consisting of Beyrick de Vries, Trevor Sicelo, Luke McCraken, Siyabonga Khoza and Amber Hogg were second and took home R250 each for their efforts while the Tarantellas made up of Brandon Rose, Ash Hay-Buchanan, Shane Sykes, Clifford Luthwaite and Heather Klug were third.  Dylan Russel,  Matt Yeoman, Justin Sykes and Annie de Vries of the Skulls were fourth.

Gavin Roberts, the Team Manager for Lizzard was pleased with the contest. “Today has been really great and the turn out has been awesome. I am stoked to see so many kids taking part in this contest and tag surfing is a good way for them to meet other surfers”.
