    Coast® Body Wash Signs as Title Sponsor of the 2009 Ultimate Boarder™ Championship

    Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 December, 2008 : - - Santa Barbara -- UB Entertainment LLC. is pleased to announce that Coast® Body Wash, a product of The Dial® Corporation, will serve as the title sponsor for The 2009 Ultimate Boarder™ Championship.  As the title sponsor of Ultimate Boarder™, Coast® will be fully integrated with all marketing and media benefits associated with one of the most diverse and unique sporting events in the country.

    The triathlon of a new generation, Ultimate Boarder™ is a one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the artof surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding.Opening the field to both amateur and professional athletes, the event gives unknown riders a chance to showcase their talents alongside the pros. The first-ever Ultimate Boarder™, held in Squaw Valley and Ventura, Calif., last April was won by California’s Aaron Astorga.

    The 2009 Coast® Body Wash Ultimate Boarder™ Championship will be held from April 4-11, 2009.  The snowboarding stage will take place at Bear Mountain in Big Bear, Calif. and the surfing and skateboarding stages will return to Ventura, Calif. This year’s event is also expanding to include a team/relay format (male and female) along with the original individual format. Additional details to be announced soon.

    “After seeing the success of Ultimate Boarder™ last year from a grassroots perspective, we are thrilled to be onboard for the second go-around,” said Coast® brand manager Sami Myohanen. “This is a significant opportunity for us to expose the Coast® products to our target demographic.”

    Sparking attention globally, the inagural Ultimate Boarder™ was named “Best New Sports Event” by SportsTravel magazine during the TEAMS 2008 Conference & Expo held 23-27 October in Pittsburgh, PA. The SportsTravel Award winners were nominated and voted upon by readers of SportsTravel, the sports world's event magazine.

    To be eligible, events had to occur between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008. Criteria for nomination and voting included superior organization of and attendance at the event, the event provided a superior experience for competitors and/or spectators and the event's host city or venue served to enhance the event.

    “To be recognized alongside the PGA Tour, the NFL, various Olympic competitions, the X Games and many others, is a great accomplishment in our first year of this event,” said Founder and CEO Tim Hoover.
