Second shark attack at WA beach
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 December, 2008 : - - A shark has attacked a small dinghy with a married couple onboard at the same West Australian beach where a snorkeler was killed by a white pointer at the weekend, according to reports. In this latest incident, the couple radioed for help after a shark attacked their 5m dinghy this morning in Port Kennedy, south of Perth, ABC News reports.
The dinghy took on water but the couple was picked up by a fisheries boat before their dinghy sank. A Fisheries spokesman said it is not known if it is the same shark that attacked and killed 51-year-old Brian Guest off the same beach on Saturday. Authorities are now reconsidering the decision not to hunt a great white shark believed responsible according to a news report.
