Ace Cool wraps up the latest news from the North Shore
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 13 January, 2009 : - - Howzit North Shore! Lots of rain, dirty water and relatively small surf over the Christmas Holidays and so far during the New Year of 2009. Hopefully things will improve during the second half of January and we will have some nice weather and booming surf later on this year.
"The 1st half of Jan/09 looks like junk with windy east winds from a rare January high pressure that is blocking any winter swells. Not until this high pressure leaves us…maybe in the middle of the month… will those big winter storms be allowed to develop from Japan or Alaska to give us those long fetch swells from 18 to 20 second intervals with maybe 18 foot swells from the WNW direction. Maybe the 3rd or 4th week of January is where we will see a train of swells into the 1st half of February of maybe up to 20 foot plus IF we’re lucky." (Ron Barron quote)
