Lots of swell, but bad winds
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 January, 2009 : - - Honolulu -- Organizers of the Quiksilver Premium Ku Ikaika Challenge, sponsored by C4 Waterman, are keeping an eye on a new swell set to fill in by tomorrow morning but at this stage the event is not likely to run.
The forecast is for wave face heights of around 15 feet, however quality may be an issue as tradewinds have not yet returned. Early morning conditions at Makaha will be assessed at first light and an alert will be distributed by 7am Hawaii time tomorrow. The Quiksilver Premium Ku Ikaika Challenge, sponsored by C4 Waterman, has a holding period of January 15, through February 28, 2009.
