Warner Surfboards take NSW round of FCS Manufacturers Cup
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 January, 2009 : - - North Narrabeen, NSW – Warner Surfboards were today crowned champions amongst the best shapers in the country – taking out the state round of the FCS Manufacturers Cup at North Narrabeen.
In what were quintessential conditions for North Narrabeen – reeling left-handers and punchy, sharp Alley right’s – 12 of the best surfboard shapers and manufacturers went head-to-head in a battle for surfing supremacy. Playing upon the passion and tribal nature of surfing, the FCS Manufacturers Cup saw teams from around the state competing for bragging rights within the industry. Justin Cook, National Sales Manager for FCS, was over the moon with the outcome of the day. “We are really stoked with the event,” he said. “There were some great performances and the overall vibe of the day was excellent.” Running as a prelude to the NSW Jim Beam Surftag which starts today, the FCS Manufacturers Cup allows manufacturers the opportunity to take the spotlight, something usually resigned for their team riders. “Today highlighted just how talented these guys are in the water,” continued. “The level of surfing was out of control.”
In conjunction with the National Surftag Series, the FCS Manufacturers Cup will see a national final taking place on 13 March 2009 with the likes of Joel Parkinson, Chris Davidson and Mick Fanning competing for their shapers. The NSW Jim Beam Surftag will be held at North Narrabeen on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 January 2009.
The NSW Jim Beam Surftag is proudly supported by Jim Beam, FCS, O'Neill, Vmoto, Coastalwatch, Rockstar Energy Drink and Tracks.
